The crimson velour interior veiled in an elegantly embellished ivory exterior evokes an image of the most decadent Red Velvet cake, of which even Marie Antoinette would be jealous. So “let them eat cake” and live as royalty with the divine Victorian style of the “Chewy Vuitton Trunk”.

The form is inspired by a polyhedron shaped dog toy that serves as an art piece. It allows air flow and natural light intrusion via abstract perforations on inverse sides. Interior colors were consciously selected to fall within a dog’s color spectrum of visible light. The home creates a safe, comfortable, and appropriately scaled dwelling space as a temporary dog retreat.

Our furry companions, even in the smallest size, are descendants from wild ancestors where the jungle was their backyard. The “King of the Jungle’ offers exercise, play, rest, and nourishment allowing canines to rule their domain. Although this mountainous structure is equipped with natural-looking rocks and astro-turf surfaces for climbing traction, the cave offers a protected resting space where air circulates through a curtain of rope vines that also double as tug-of-war play.
