Graft House

By

Every family is unique – some have dogs, some have cats, and others have both.  The Graft House explores the expression that happens when dogs and cats get along in one home.  This house encourages the curiosity of the cate to explore the vertical maze of the floating platforms above as the dog remains close to the comfort of a bed below.  As opposite as they may be, dogs and cats have a common place in the Graft House.

BAR(k)ART

By

Having evolved from its decidedly prim and proper Victorian era origin as a “tea trolley” in the late-1800s, the Cocktail Cart is now seen as a glamorous vehicle to distribute celebratory libations in style. This design|build team took their obsession with mobile apertifs and married it with their love for four-legged friends, and voila: Bar(k)ART was born. This Cocktail Cart/Small Pet Bed hybrid features elegant proportions, a delicate yet sturdy welded steel frame with brass details, and lavishly exotic hardwoods.  Bar(k)ART’s transitional design will roll right into any living room with a double-shot of cosmopolitan luxury.

The Salty Dog

By

Created to fit in with beachy resort-style furniture, The Salty Dog is designed to be your pet’s own staycation oasis that can seamlessly double as a piece of household decor for your home. The inspiration derived from the “dog days of summer at the beach” and the Salty Dog, a summertime cocktail that influenced the color palette chosen – grapefruit citrus tones mixed with green mint leaves. The organic, cocoon-like form provides the feeling of a protected enclave, while the cleanable exterior material is woven through the frame to allow more breathability.  The top surface of the piece features a planter to add a touch of greenery for a holistic and natural design upgrade. So let your pet lay back, turn on the sound of crashing waves with a noise machine, bring them a refreshing bowl of water, and let them experience complete relaxation in this furniture piece designed for the dog with a touch of wanderlust.

Best Friend Desk

By

During this time of social distancing, pets have maximized their time and attention with us by taking over our workspaces as their own.  The “Best Friend Desk” takes on the challenges of working with attention-seeking, spatially-unaware, homebody pets by providing alternate lodgings and entrainment all the while functioning as a workspace for the work-from-home human. The streamlined, complementary curved desk inherently allows for multiple levels of lounging perches and places for playful interlocking with one another. Along with a see-through glass worktop, it permits everyone to be comfortably seen and engaged no matter the species.  Thus creating and claiming, for both pet and hman, the “Best Friend Desk”.

Double Take

By

Side table. No, dog bed? Huh? Cat cave? The Double Take can serve both dogs and cats (if you’re lucky you’ll find both cuddling within) by thoughtfully containing essential amenities for your dog/cat in a side table. This carefully designed table, a concrete mass containing an articulable wooden form, hides a murphy-style fold-away bed – open up, your furry friend is nearby; closed, you’ve managed to store away their bed, freeing up whatever awkward corner it had previously been stored in. Even in its closed position, the wood form creates a tunnel/cave condition you’re likely to find your cat spying on you from…all this while being the most artful object in your home.
