This is a doghouse every big dog will love!  This sculptural piece is both functional and uniquely dynamic from every angle.  The reclaimed beetle kill pine has inherent character that will enhance with age.  Designed to maximize air circulation, the house is both elevated and incorporates multiple slatted openings.  Unfolding from the exterior is the planter and storage bench that is a convenient spot to store dog accessories.  In this planter, dog-friendly herbs are a beneficial addition.

The design is a combination of a gable roof – a basic symbol for a house and a tent – and image of playfulness and adventure.  A basic triangle frame is set on a square platform to create the most fundamental form of a house with a roof and floor.  The ridge of the roof is twisted toward the corners to form a much more dynamic shape and interesting look for the house.  The hybrid design of a straight roof edge and warped tent surface creates a safe environment for a dog to enjoy his/her in-house activities while feeling like they are outdoor camping.

Don’t bring your dog to the bar, bring your bar to the dog!  This doghouse incorporates your furr-baby in the merry-making of alcoholic consumption.  The standing height bar contains a trough for your beer to sit and cool in ice.  The house portion of the structure consists of steel supports, perforated metal panels, Plexiglas and whiskey barrel inspired wooden planks; it also includes an area to house a small keg which can be connected to the tap at the bar.

This post modern dog house utilizes a modern vocabulary of ‘folding geometric planes’ in solid and implied ways.  The origamic approach is made through the tactile materials of folding steel, sail cloth and a wood floor ground plane.  The enclosure wraps up and over while remaining open and playful in nature with a tennis ball “play wall” and a solar-powered water dish.  The soft material of the dog bed, open wall design and sail cloth shade planes allow for the cool respite in the summer while also maintaining a place to shelter in inclement weather.

Seasons have come and gone, and he has walked hundreds of miles with you, his owner, the center of his world.  Now his arthritis, failing eyesight, decreasing strength, and increasing health issues limit his abilities.  Through the design of this dog house, you can provide him the level of care and comfort he needs.  This dog house provides a large opening for the dog to easily access a bed that cradles your dog’s body without putting pressure on his bones.  Durable, non-slip materials provide safety while also surrounding your pet with soothing colors.  Below the bed is a sanitary tray that allows for easy cleaning and replacement.  Finally, an operable panel provides you with complete and easy access to your dog whenever he needs you.
