This project exudes its intent, to create a fun apparatus for the dog to enjoy. Whether it’s sitting on top, as king of their territory, or lying within the comfortable space, dreaming of steak, the dog is spoiled with this doghouse. Providing its organic shape, a lightweight wood frame is wrapped in fiberglass and tufted vinyl with artificial turf on top.

“The hound mound” is inspired by the true nature of a canine. The creature comforts of the selected materials and colors from the warm wood finish to the turf roof invokes the feeling of home in a whimsical yet practical way. The double-curved slope turf roof and thoughtful details creates a sense of seamless integration into the landscape with durability in mind. The introduction of varying wood slat siding and integral dog bowl brings in simple yet intentional details to provide an open expression while also maintaining the integrity of the doghouse. Each unique component of the design is an ode to the canine with playful and thoughtful implementation of elements while creating a cozy environment.
The Breezy Bungalow is designed to meet the needs of the biggest pups on the block. A large opening makes it easy for our big friends to get in and curl up for a nap or just watch the world go by. It can get hot in Texas with all that fur, but this home is designed with slatted walls to keep that cool breeze blowing through so your pup stays cool and comfortable. The planter on the roof of this home makes it a little extra welcoming.
A chashitsu, representing harmony, purity, respect, and tranquility, is a space in Japanese tradition designed for tea ceremony gatherings. One purpose of a tea ceremony is for guests to enjoy the hospitality and calming environment as a retreat from the fast pace of everyday life. Inspired by a chashitsu, this tea house is the ideal way to give our dogs what they give us. TranquiliTea House gives our teacup pups a space to relax after a long day of caring, loving, and protecting their families.
The White Paw is the perfect place for your furry friend to lounge while mixing up your favorite cocktail! The enveloping wood tower merges the forms of two of your bar cart must haves—the wine decanter and your favorite spiked seltzer! The large void space at the bottom of the seltzer shape is the perfect area to place your best friend’s favorite bed to lounge and sleep in. The sinuous curves of the joint forms provide the perfect design to place in multiple areas of your living space, allowing your dog to always be next to you.
FETCH House is an interactive shelter for your modern dog, exploring how digital design and fabrication can change the way we think about how we build and live. The design uses technology to promote an active lifestyle thru a continuous facade of over 1000 standard tennis balls which is then interconnected by a modular support structure 3D printed using lightweight plastic. The balls, which are held in place by compression, can be pulled out so you can play fetch with your dog. After hours of enjoyment, the balls can be reinserted into the doghouse. The cellular nature of the design allows you to remove balls randomly or you can create unique patterns which allow more light or air to filter into the doghouse.
Almost as old as the act of building itself, the gable has become the quintessential roof form for “home” around the world. A gable roof’s triangular silhouette is not only delightfully symmetrical, but also serve the important purpose of shedding away rain efficiently. This entry features a cross-gabled roof set upon a sturdy platform with legs, a spacious wood-decked interior, and generous natural ventilation. It recalls the comforting shape of home and celebrates the craft of old-fashioned carpentry.

Three helical molded plywood fins gracefully encircle four rotating wood platforms, with holes for access and play, with leave-outs for removable fabric inserts. The dynamic, sculptural form and warm material palette allow the Felix Helix to fit in perfectly in any contemporary home setting.
