2016 Entry
N-Vent-A-Haus
Designed to celebrate the recently completed Baylor Scott & White Canine Unit, our structure utilized a canted roof and tensile fabric shading. To enhance the livability of the house in our Texas heat, the house showcases a passive cooling technique. This recent innovation is utilized in developing countries allowing for natural ventilation without electricity. Heated air compresses through the bottle opening reducing the resulting air temperature 5-10 degrees. This component of the dog house is removable and allows continuous use per the owner’s bottle consumption. Along with recycled bottles, the reclaimed wood, turf, shading fabric and built-in water dish contribute to an overall goal of sustainable practice on a micro-scale for our four-legged friends.
